Designing a Scalable Multi-Regional Identity System
Meta Roadshow is a Conversational Marketing Event hosted together with CM.com and Meta. This event was hosted in: South Africa, Arab Emirates
and China.

01. Overview
Problem
The Meta WhatsApp Roadshow brought together diverse audiences across the Middle East and Africa.
The challenge was to design a visual identity system that could bridge distinct cultural aesthetics while maintaining a cohesive and scalable brand experience across regions.
Goal
Create a modular visual identity system that combines geometric structures and cultural symbolism, allowing the design to adapt to different regions while preserving a unified brand language.
Role
Concept & Thinking Designer, Visual Designer, Motion Designer
02. Research & Cultural Insights
I explored visual traditions from the Middle East and Africa, focusing on shared principles such as geometric structures, symbolic motifs, and rhythmic patterns.
These insights informed a modular visual system designed to blend cultural influences while remaining scalable
across regions.
Key insight:
Arabic calligraphy and geometric compositions, known for their balance, rhythm, and symbolic structure.
African textile patterns, characterized by bold shapes, repetition, and vibrant visual storytelling.
Shared visual principles, such as modular structures, symbolic motifs, and strong color contrasts.
03. Design Challenge
How can two distinct cultural identities be combined into a unified visual language?
04. Visual Identity System
To ensure consistency across multiple regions, I designed a modular visual system combining geometric structures with culturally inspired elements.
This approach allowed the identity to remain visually coherent while adapting to different cultural contexts and
event environments.
Color System
A vibrant gradient palette derived from Meta’s visual language was used to create energy and visual continuity across regions and event formats.

Typography System
A clean typographic hierarchy was used to ensure readability across large event screens, printed materials,
and digital assets.

The color system is structured around a strong brand purple foundation, supported by blue and cyan accents that reinforce energy, contrast, and visual hierarchy across event materials.
05. Identity Variations & Scalability
The identity system was designed to remain structurally consistent while adapting to different regional contexts.
Each variation preserves the core visual framework while introducing culturally relevant imagery.

08. Key Learnings
The visual system successfully scaled across multiple regions while maintaining a unified brand experience.
Designing for cultural diversity requires balancing consistency and local expression.
Modular systems allow identities to scale across regions without redesign.
A strong structural framework enables creative flexibility.

06. System in Context
The modular identity was applied across multiple formats, from event stages and digital screens
to printed materials and merchandise.
This project demonstrates how a modular identity system can balance global consistency with cultural adaptability across diverse audiences.
These insights informed the creation of a modular visual system designed to blend cultural influences while remaining flexible across regions.
The fusion of Arabic calligraphy and African textile geometry became the foundation of a unified cultural design system.
This visual system allowed the identity to scale across multiple event formats while maintaining cultural relevance and brand consistency.
The Meta WhatsApp Roadshow needed a design system capable of connecting audiences across different regions while maintaining a consistent brand experience.
The challenge was to create a flexible visual framework that could incorporate diverse cultural influences without losing coherence, clarity, or scalability.
Case Study: African Markets
For regions such as South Africa, the visual language incorporated geometric textile patterns and vibrant color palettes inspired by traditional fabrics.
These elements introduced cultural richness into the identity while maintaining a contemporary visual style.
Case Study: Middle East (UAE)
The Middle Eastern direction blended Arabic calligraphic elegance with the Meta color system to create a culturally resonant yet globally consistent aesthetic.
This approach ensured the design felt authentic while remaining aligned with the broader brand identity.
Cultural Symbolism
Visual elements inspired by African textile patterns and Arabic calligraphy introduce cultural depth while maintaining a contemporary visual language.
Adaptive Visual Language
